If you would like to see an Optometrist about your conjunctivitis (pink eye) symptoms, please call or request an appointment online. Please specify that you are seeking treatment for pink eye.
We are quite familiar with all varieties of conjunctivitis and will quickly diagnose the type and cause of your particular case. Once we have identified what type of pink eye you have, we will be able to provide appropriate treatment.
We can provide treatment for many of the annoying and uncomfortable symptoms caused by conjunctivitis. These treatments include eye drops, topical/oral antibiotics, and other therapies designed to relieve your discomfort.
A common cause of red eye is a foreign body stuck in the eye. If dust, sawdust, sand, etc. gets into the eye, the primary symptom will be pain and irritation in the affected eye.
If you get a foreign body in your eye, immediately perform an eye rinse. If you do not have an eye rinse bottle, use cool, clean water to rinse your eye. This is best performed by tilting your head up, looking up with your eyes, and then gently rinsing. Do this for at least 10 minutes.
Should the feeling persist, immediately come see us. We will gently lift your eyelid and remove whatever is causing the irritation.
Note that we can not be accessed from inside the building – you must enter via the parking lot doors.
Diabetic retinopathy is the most common eye disease for people living with diabetes. Nearly 50% of all people with diabetes will develop retinopathy; an estimated 2 million Canadians have some form of diabetic retinopathy.
A dilated eye exam is an important test that will allow us to properly assess your inner eye for signs of retinopathy and other diseases. This dilation allows us to see your entire retina, as the pupil (being dilated) cannot contract and restrict our viewable window.
If it is has been more than a year since your last eye exam, please schedule an appointment to see one of our Optometrists soon.

How Conjunctivitis is Treated – Conjunctivitis caused by air quality or foreign bodies is best addressed via artificial tears (eye drops). These eye drops will lubricate the eye and promote faster healing.
